WELCOME TO THE NEW NORMAL
Woke up to the world.
Violence and crime is a norm.
Petty thieves and petty lies.
A market saturated with white collar and hate crimes.
Where stay home, stay safe is now the heeded call.
Welcome to the new norm.
A reset was needed.
Now social distancing is the masses cry.
Lost jobs and lost lives have taken over.
Dead bodies make way for new lives.
Wearing a mask to go outside is the way to go.
Welcome to the new norm.
It’s now a world where humans stay at home so the ozone can be alone.
To harmoniously thrive in its natural habitat is the way to go.
We see schools out. But are they really out?
Parents and students ought not to be lost.
It’s summer now. Who’s enjoying the poui trees and ocean breeze.
Welcome to the new norm.
Companies have closed their doors.
Setting unemployment to a higher score.
Job lost and poverty on the horizon.
Our government is forced to give aiding grants.
To make a little change the economy had to bawl.
Aye!!!!
Welcome to the new norm.
A virus that’s taking lives.
One, way bigger than senseless hate crimes.
Amidst this virus, there’re numerous calls for justice as innocent bodies fall victims.
How is it that death, the factor, is bringing unity?
To make peace is what we need; for humanity to rise indeed.
What the future holds is yet unknown.
There’s no going back now.
Welcome to the new norm.
The emergence of mass production and technology are
the order of the day.
They say peace be still. But are we really still?
Amidst this world wide pandemic there is a call for nations to unite.
To fight the deadly virus called COVID-19.
Times are getting realer; it’s a call from the master.
Open your eyes and you’ll see.
