I’ve been into and slowly building my Korean beauty skin care routine.
Scrolling through Soko Glam, I stumbled upon the Acwell Licorice pH Balancing Cleansing Toner. After viewing its ingredients, claims and reading its reviews, I had to give it a try. This award winning product is raved of almost everywhere, if not everywhere, by everyone.
This product, claims to deep clean and brighten, allowing you to achieve that honey skin😱. Yes hunny, that’s the seller there …. “honey skin”, yip, you can have all my $$$$.
When they say deep clean, hunny, they weren’t lying. After double cleansing, I’m taken aback 😱 by the “left over dirt” that swipes of the cotton after using this toner (and I’m not speaking on days I wear makeup).
WHAT IS HONEY SKIN may you ask?
The “honey skin” look is highly sort after in the k-beauty world, well, it’s where I was introduced to honey skin. The aim, is to have your skin achieve its maximum glowing and dewy complexion, by using ingredients full of humectants and great in toning.
Basically, getting your skin to imitate the glassy or sheen like look of honey.
It’s no surprise this product quickly goes out of stock.
Eye catching ingredients :
It contains peony extract and licorice water, both natural brightening ingredients which allows a clear complexion.
Peony extract – Used internally and externally in a lot of Chinese medicines, it aids in skin clarity.
10% Licorice water – The star of the show for me, this ingredient is great for sensitive, problematic skin and oily skin as it helps balance oils in the skin while brightening. For someone with sensitive problematic skin, you’ll love this ingredient as its great for calming and reducing redness.
** This toner definitely gives my face a plumped and clear glow without irritating, which I’m here for👐
This toner has a pH level of 5.5 which is great as this means your skin isn’t being stripped of its natural oils, which is very important.
First time using this product, I became so worried because of the consistency. It’s unlike any other toner I’ve used, “Was I using this right? Was this really a toner in this bottle? Should I wash this off? were some questions I asked myself. I’ve never used a toner which is slightly bubbly/foamy like this, it felt somewhat like a soapish texture.
If you’re into Korean beauty skin care and in search of that dewy/honey skin, this would definitely do the trick. (have you glowing for days) It’s a must try…thank me later.
