Question :
Are you tired of visiting the doctor with the same problem, ” Doc, I can’t sleep”
Are you tired of walking in and out the drug store, spending unnecessary money on prescribed and over the counter medication to sleep.
There are lots of natural remedies you can use to fall asleep fast. In this post, I’ll be sharing just that. Simple, easy and natural ways to fall asleep fast and quickly as possible.
How to fall asleep when you can’t sleep
When you find yourself tossing and turning.
Practice the art of complete stillness
AKA – How to meditate!!!
Something I practice on a daily and I highly recommend you get into, for personal, physical, mental and spiritual well being. I spoke on the art of meditation in a past blog post- 10 WAYS TO FEEL BETTER WHEN YOU ARE FEELING DOWN AND IN A FUNKY MOOD {click to read}
Deep breathes. Stay still and listen to the inhales and exhales of your breathes. Stay still, any position which is comfortable to you. For me I prefer, lying on my back, keeping my eyes close. Completely blank out even the slightest noise.
Zero in inside your body. Paying close attention to the rhythm of your breathing. Do not, not even for a second open your eyes for anything.
I guarantee, in two twos, without knowing, you’ll find yourself fast asleep.
Well, you’ll realize you fell asleep when you wake the next day. Alert and energized, ready to tackle those task ahead.
Lavender essential oil
How to fall asleep fast and have sweet dreams?
By the use of aromatherapy. INDEED
Definitely one of my all time favs. Lavender essential oil can be used in a number of ways including too help you snooze fast asleep. It is proven to naturally lower your heart rate and increase drowsiness . Lavender oil is very calming.
I add this to my lotion, rubbing my entire body from head to toe. Rub on your temples and under your feet. Let the aroma fill the air.

Check the temperature and air flow in the room
With this being said you may want to invest in a diffuser or air purifier. My favorite night oils to add in my diffuser are lavender and eucalyptus essential oils. Now, this may sound like doing the most, but, as I usually say, “DON’T KNOCK IT UNTIL YOU’VE TRIED IT”.
Suffering with sinus and allergy problems , means I usually have some uncomfortable and restless days and nights. Getting things right is a must. Adding a diffuser to my night and day time routine with drops of my essential oils gives me such a peaceful nights rest, as a result, I’m able to wake recharged, at peace and with energy to cope with my busy day.
For me, giving an exact temperature is impossible. Once it’s not to hot or to cold. There must be air flow.

Lessen your caffeine intake
Caffeine is a stimulant which increases your attention and alertness, hence, keeping you awake. Consequently, a lot consume drinks with strong caffeine, early in the morning or under a lot of pressure. If you consume drinks with caffeine, it is recommended to lessen your intake and abstain from caffeine approx. 5 hours before sleep time.
Consuming caffeine any time close to your intended bed time, altering your bodies natural sleep rhythm, will cause you severe consequences, not only the next day but on your health in the long run.
As a result of your body being weak because it wants and needs sleep but you mind is unnaturally ticking, leads to a natural system shot down at the wrong time (AKA- your body will eventually crash)
No lights
Let me just repeat this. NO LIGHTS.
This includes shutting off your house lights AND your electronic devices. Computers, televisions, tablets etc. Now a days it seems, a lot of people can’t live without their electronic devices. From reading their favorite ebooks to lurking and scrolling on social media. Morning, noon and night they are at it, however, if your care more for your well being, you’ll do the better.
Light is a way of automatically telling the body to stay awake, however, darkness sends a signal of unwinding, rest and shut down.
- So, 1-2 hours before bed time, start dimming those lights
- Turn those electronic screens to night mode
- Wearing an eye mask also help
Ensuring your environment is as dark as possible is effective in ensuring you fall asleep easy and quickly as possible.
After all, getting that good night’s rest is ideal for the start of a great and productive day.
Bath
Lastly, having myself a warm bath.
Taking a nice warm bath is so refreshing and recharging. Something about that steam entering the pores as they open!!! Ahhhhhhhh. Sprinkle some eucalyptus or lavender essential oils. Trust me, your senses will be opened, resulting in you being most calm and relaxed.
